SnackMagic is an online snack box service that takes all the pressure off of gifting. They let individuals pick which goodies they get in their custom snack packages, and provide a wide variety of options, including healthy, gluten-free, and vegan snacks. SnackMagic was founded with the goal of creating a unique and personalized snack delivery experience that could be used to build and maintain relationships with employees, clients, and customers.
Goal
Align with users’ values with customized donations to nonprofits
SnackMagic was born during the COVID-19 pandemic, which was a time of various widespread racial justice and social movements as well as a time where healthcare and pandemic response was heavily emphasized. Due to these factors, charitable giving in the U.S. reached a record $471 billion in 2020. Suffice to say that Americans were more invested in helping others than they had ever been in the months (and years) following the pandemic.
To better serve their customers who were looking for ways to support causes they care about, SnackMagic sought out a way to incorporate charitable donations in their offerings. It was especially important that senders had the freedom to pick the nonprofit they wanted to support and that the experience was seamless and easy to use.
Solution & Results
Customized donations strengthen connections
SnackMagic partnered with Change to attach a personalized donation option to every gift box. With this new integration, senders can choose from 100 nonprofits to support, recipients see the donation amount and nonprofit when they redeem their gift, and all the proceeds from the donations go directly to the selected nonprofit. It was especially important for SnackMagic senders to easily recognize the nonprofit options at a glance. Luckily, Change manages the licensing agreements on behalf of SnackMagic, so they can feature nonprofit logos without worrying about legal requirements, and senders can quickly find their favorite nonprofit to support.
