What does SOC 2 Type II certified mean?

SOC 2 Type II certification, developed by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), ensures that service providers manage and protect client data securely. Unlike Type I, which evaluates security controls at a single point in time, Type II assesses the effectiveness of these controls over an extended period, typically six months. This comprehensive audit provides assurance that a company meets high standards for security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy—offering confidence to organizations when partnering with third parties.
