RoundUp.org makes it easy for anyone to donate spare change from everyday purchases. Donors sign in, connect a card, pick any U.S. nonprofit, and set a monthly cap that fits their budget. Donors can choose to share their contact information with the nonprofit or remain anonymous, and they receive a single consolidated tax receipt for simplicity. It’s the simplest way for people to support a cause they care about on a consistent basis.
Recurring donations are a powerful stabilizer for nonprofit revenue, yet industry estimates suggest only 3% of giving is recurring today. RoundUp.org set out to change that by meeting donors where they already are, at checkout and in daily spending, while keeping the donor experience fast and the expense ratio low.
To do this at scale, the team needed accurate nonprofit data, reliable payouts, and a clear path through state charitable compliance. They also wanted tools that would help partner nonprofits promote RoundUp.org to their communities without adding administrative burden.
RoundUp.org chose Change to handle donation distribution and to supply a robust directory of more than 1.3 million pre-vetted nonprofits. The platform syncs nonprofit data from Change on a regular basis so donors can always find and select current, eligible organizations. This same dataset enables RoundUp.org to generate customized PDFs and promotional assets for each nonprofit, helping partners spread the word.
Integration was straightforward. RoundUp.org connected to Stripe for payment processing and stood up the core experience in less than two months. With Change managing payouts and guiding compliance needs, the team launched a July 2025 pilot with 12 nonprofits and is now focused on growth levers like donor conversion, retention, and corporate participation.
Looking ahead, RoundUp.org plans to add corporate matching and support for corporate card round-ups. Product work will also improve cause-based discovery for donors who do not have a single nonprofit in mind. With Change as the backbone for payouts, data, and compliance, RoundUp.org can keep the donor experience simple while helping nonprofits build more predictable, recurring revenue.
